Board of Directors

Tom Manthei


Tom is retired President of Manthei Incorporated. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2007. Tom and his wife Teri live in Petoskey, Michigan.

Michael Torrech

Vice Chairman

Mike is retired President and CEO of American Maritime Holdings. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2009. Mike and his wife Diane live in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Greg McDonald


Greg is Co-Founder of the non-profit Embracing the Journey. Previously, he was a partner and Executive Vice President in Acosta Sales and Marketing. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2010. Greg and his wife Lynn live in Atlanta, Georgia.

David Phillips, Jr.


David is a retired Brigadier General with the Virginia Air National Guard. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2003. David and his wife Terilyn Goins live in Yorktown, Virginia.

David Dunlevy

Dave is the Founder of D & A Dunlevy Landscapers, a company in the Washington, DC area that began in 1982. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2012. Dave and his wife Angie live in Frederick, Maryland.

Tony Sandoval

Tony is the founder of Sandoval Investigative Consulting, LLC. Previously, he served with the FBI as a supervisory special agent. He has also served as a missionary and as a pastor. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2017. Tony and his wife Melody divide their time between Taos, New Mexico, and Columbia, South Carolina.

Joe Renaud

Joe is founder/president of Public Transportation Insurance Specialist, Inc. as well as president of ILMFC Boat Charters. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2017. Joe and his wife live in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

Tracy Gregorio

Tracy is President/CEO of G2 Ops, Inc. Previously she was Vice President of Enrollment Management and Information Technology at Regent University. She has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2015. Tracy and her husband Bob live in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Dr. Vincent Joseph

Vincent is a Chiropractor with Rebound Chiropractic. He also serves as team chiropractor for Christopher Newport University Sports. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2015. Vincent and his wife Theresa live in Newport News, Virginia.

Justin Kruse

Justin is a Management Analyst at Futrend Technology. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2015. Justin and his wife Courtney live in Cincinnati, Ohio.


Greg Harris

Executive Director

Greg leads the Orphan Helpers team in carrying out the organization’s mission to help vulnerable youth succeed. Prior to Orphan Helpers, he served 16 years in key leadership positions on Capitol Hill, in the U.S. Department of Justice, and at the Kansas Department for Children and Families. Greg received a Master of Public Administration from George Mason University in Virginia.

Edward Rivera

Director of Central American Partnerships

Edward develops relationships with Central American groups, including churches, businesses, schools, human service organizations, and government agencies. He works throughout Honduras and El Salvador to recruit partners who want to help children and youth achieve success. Edward first began as a volunteer with Orphan Helpers in 2008 following 22 years of service in the U.S. Air Force.

Ron Goodman

Director of Strategic Partnerships

Ron builds partnerships with churches, individuals, civic organizations, businesses, and others desiring to serve abandoned children and incarcerated youth. Before coming to Orphan Helpers in 2011, Ron spent 40 years in pastoral ministry, including 25 years as Senior Pastor of First Christian Church in Lawrence, Kansas, and as Associate Pastor of Stutsmanville Chapel in Harbor Springs, Michigan. He graduated from Ozark Christian College and received his Masters in Religious Studies from the University of Kansas.

Fanni Ortez

Administrative Assistant – Honduras

Fanni provides administrative and accounting support in the office in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Fanni joined the Orphan Helpers team in 2005 after receiving her degree in accounting.

Oscar Rodríguez

Administrative Assistant – El Salvador

Oscar provides administrative support to the Director of El Salvador and assists with all vision trips in the country. Oscar joined the Orphan Helpers team in 2009 after years of working in public transportation. He enjoys serving the Lord, sharing his testimony, and supporting the mission of Orphan Helpers.

Soledad Orellana

Director of El Salvador

Soledad oversees all programs and operations in El Salvador. In 2007, Soledad joined the Orphan Helpers team after serving for 13 years in leadership positions at the country’s child welfare department (ISNA). A social worker by profession, she has worked throughout Central and South America helping abused and abandoned children.

Maria Hernandez

Development Manager

Maria manages the daily operations of the Orphan Helpers office as well as special events. Maria has held senior positions at a number of non-profits, including the WJCC Schools Foundation, the Virginia Air and Space Center, Teens Have Choices, the American Red Cross (Washington County and Western Potomac, Maryland), and the YMCA (Bethesda-Chevy Chase, Maryland). She holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Puerto Rico.
