Overview:

Counteract International is committed to protecting your privacy and to treat your information with utmost care and respect.  We do not collect personal identifying information about you when you visit our site, unless you choose to provide such information to us. Providing such information is strictly voluntary.  This policy is your guide to how we will handle information we learn about you from your visit to our Website, when you call our office, join our mailing list,  or when you chose to be a donor with our organization.  

This Privacy Policy is designed to provide transparency into our privacy practices and to inform you of the ways your information is collected and used.  We gather personal and financial information from our donors:   1) through our website, 2) through mailings and correspondence, 3) from conversations over the phone, and  4) Fundraising efforts.  

Information We Collect:

We collect the following categories of information:

  1. Personal Information that can be used to identify you individually, such as your name, physical address, zip code, telephone number, and email address.  This personal information may be provided to us through our website, donor correspondence or telephone conversations.
  2. Transaction information you provide when you donate online, over the telephone or through mailings using a credit card.
  3. Anonymous information that does not personally identify you.  This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access time and referring website address.  We use this information for the operation of the service, to maintain quality.

How We Use The Information:

Counteract International is committed to our Donors and we will not sell, share or trade our donors’ names or personal or financial Information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations.  This Donor Privacy Policy applies to all information received by Counteract via our website (according to our Privacy Statement), giving information over the phone or at a fundraiser.  This policy also applies to any electronic, written, or verbal communications.

Sharing of Personal Information

Counteract International will not sell, rent, share, or trade your personal information to any third party, nor will we send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.

​The identity of all who contact us through this website will be kept confidential.  Use of personal information will be limited to the internal purposes of Counteract International and only to further our ministry activities and purposes.

Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through Counteract International public message boards, this information may be collected and used by others. Note: Counteract International does not read any of your private online communications.

Counteract International may disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:  a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with the legal process served on Counteract International or the site, b) protect and defend the rights or property of Counteract International, and c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users or Counteract International or the public.

Counteract International is not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on websites outside of Counteract International’s website.

How We Collect the Information

In order to tailor our interactions with you and complete transactions you request, we collect:

  • Your email address when you join our email list;
  • Voluntary information given to us during our fundraising events;
  • Personal information when you call with questions or to request materials from our organization;
  • Credit card information when you make an online donation; and
  • Website usage data to gauge our website’s effectiveness and to personalize your experience while you are on our or third-party websites.

Sending Counteract International an Email:

​You also may decide to send us personal identifying information via electronic mail message containing a question or comment that provides us this information.  We use personal identifying information from email primarily to respond to your requests.  We may forward your email to other employees who are better able to answer you questions.  We may also use your email to contact you in the future about our programs that may be of interest.

Information Security

Counteract International is committed to ensuring the security of your information.  Counteract International uses Internet Encryption Software, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Protocol when collecting or transferring sensitive data such as credit card information. Any information you enter is encrypted at your browser, sent over the public Internet in encrypted form, and then de-encrypted at our server. All transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.  Please be aware that, despite our best efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable.

Links to Third Party Websites

To allow you to interact with third-party websites on which you may have accounts (such as social media websites) or join communities on such websites, we may provide links or embed third-party applications that allow you to login, post content, or join communities from our websites.

We may also provide you with general links to third-party websites. Your use of these links and applications is subject to the third-parties’ privacy policies, and you should become familiar with the third-parties’ privacy policies before using the links or applications.

Counteract International is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of third-party websites.

Counteract International will occasionally update this Statement of Privacy to reflect company and customer feedback.  Counteract International encourages you to periodically review this Policy to be informed of how Counteract International is protecting your information.

If we decide to use your Personal Information in a manner not set forth in this Privacy Policy, we will notify registered users and donors by email to the email addresses on record and give users an opportunity to opt-out.

Opt-Out or Change Personal Information
