Of the children and youth we serve in Honduras and El Salvador, 100% have been orphaned, abused or incarcerated. The Bible is clear about serving the population that we do:
Defend the weak and the fatherless. – Psalm 82:3
I was in prison and you came to me. – Matthew 25:36
The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God.” – Acts 10:4
He’s the one who comforts us in all our trouble so that we can comfort other people who are in every kind of trouble. – 2 Corinthian 1:4
The children and youth we serve in Honduras and El Salvador fall into these categories – fatherless, prisoner, poor, hurting – for many reasons. The reasons include poor educational systems, extreme levels of poverty, crime and violence, and breakdown of the family.
Please Pray For…
- The abandoned children and incarcerated youth – that they may draw closer to God and their community
- The Orphan Helpers teachers – that they may be strengthened and encouraged in their challenging work
- The local churches – that they may increasingly surround and support the forgotten youth in the centers
- The schools and businesses – that they may open their doors to provide vulnerable youth with educational and employment opportunities
