Orphan Helpers Trips

Check out our new Trips Blog!!

Going on an Orphan Helpers trip offers a unique opportunity for God to show His love to orphaned, abused, and abandoned children.  God allows us to be His very own instruments of grace and mercy to forgotten and neglected children. Orphan Helpers offers three kinds of trips: Mission Trips, Vision Trips, and Internships.

"He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others.  When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us."

2 Corinthians 2:4

Mission Trips typically last one week in a designated city in Central America. Team members work each day in an orphanage and/or detention center doing sports, crafts, games, constuction, etc.The cost of the trip ranges from $1300-$1600, is mainly dependent on the cost of airfare.

Vision Trips are four or five-day trips with the ministry's Founder or Development Director, helping you "catch the vision" of Orphan Helpers. A Vision Trip is designed to introduce you to nearly every orphanage and detention center where Orphan Helpers works in a particular country. They are fast-paced trips that offer a thorough overview of our programs as well as a personal introduction to the children we serve.  The cost is $1800.

Internships are available for individuals or small teams who desire an extended program in Central America. Programs are designed specifically for interns based on their skill set and our ministry needs. For one month or more interns will serve in a city where we work. Interns are encouraged to have a "conversational level" of Spanish. The cost of internships varies based on the duration of the trip, airfare and lodging.

What is the job of a Team Member?

God has chosen to show His grace and love to hurting children through people like you and me. He asks us to serve in gratitude and humility and to demonstrate the fruits of His Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness. The purpose of the mission trip is to bring God's love to the children and adults who live in the country that is visited. Teams witness for Jesus Christ through their words and actions.  Programs may vary from sports to music to Bible camps, handcrafts, and other activities. Teams often perform light construction such as painting, cleaning, and general repairs. They distribute shirts, toys and health kits to residents. Team leaders assign specific jobs to the members.
