Giving to the Lord

Donation Needs Volunteer Opportunities Prayer Support One morning when visiting El Espino, a detention center in El Salvador, six boys incarcerated for various gang-related crimes stood in front of their peers, their teachers, and a team of Orphan Helpers from the US to show their thanks for what God has done for them through this ministry.  The boys had chosen the song "Thank You" to sing in Spanish. The lyrics say: "Thank you for giving to the Lord, I am a life that was changed... Thank you for giving to the Lord I am so glad you gave." The room was silent and tears were seen on many of the faces, especially those from the US who were seeing the fruits of Orphan Helpers ministry work for the very first time. This is evidence of the gratitiude that the children and teenagers feel for what you are allowing God to do through you; and it is evidence that God's work is done through His willing servants who have been strategically gifted by Him.

"We have different gifts...  If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith.  If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy let him do it cheerfully.  Love must be sincere."  Romans 12:6-9
