Donation Needs

The government orphanages and detention centers where Orphan Helpers works are little more than warehouses for orphaned, abandoned, and incarcerated children.  We have entered facilities with no plumbing, no furniture (beds, chairs, desks, tables) and certainly nothing in the way of reading materials or school supplies. The children can put everything they own in a plastic kitchen-size trash bag.  In fact, they often do just that when the government determines they should be sent to another center. In most of the 15 centers where we work, God has provided many of these basic needs. What are the most important things our children need now?

	School and Educational Materials Pens and pencils Markers and crayons Dry erase materials Ruled paper, construction paper Copy paper, small legal pads Glue sticks, rulers, blunt scissors Staplers and staples Index cards Pencil sharpeners and erasers Chalk and erasers Coloring books Simple Spanish children’s books Spanish flash cards Puzzles for all ages
Vocational Training Materials Musical Instruments Sewing Materials: Sewing machines (in working condition please) Fabrics, thread, needles Zippers, snaps, buttons Simple clothing or costume patterns Hair salon accessories: curlers/rollers brushes and combs shampoo/conditioner hair color styling gel, hair spray bobby pins, hair clips scissors and electric clippers	Spiritual Development Materials Spanish Bibles (Reina Valera 1995) Spanish Bible Study curriculum  Spanish religious tracts  Spanish children's Bibles or story books  Computers/Sports Equipment PC's, keyboards, speakers, printers, monitors Computer supplies (mouse, mouse pads, CDs and blank discs, ink cartridges, software) Sports gear and equipment such as soccer balls, footballs, basketballs, baseballs, small air pumps, soccer nets, Frisbees, yo-yos
Clothing Gently used summer clothing for infants, toddlers, children, and teenagers.  Shoes, tennis shoes, sandals, socks, underclothes, boxer shorts for teenage boys, pajamas, t-shirts, shorts and blue jeans.

"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.  And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all you need, you will abound in every good work." ~ 2 Corinthians 9:7-8
