Connecting the Church with Orphan Ministry

“The church needs the orphans more than the orphans need the church.”
--Dennis Rainey, Family Life

As a church, we have an opportunity and obligation to care for the orphaned and abandoned in this world.  How can your church be a part of God's work and purpose in the lives of these children? A partnership with Orphan Helpers provides a unique ability to become deeply invested and obedient to the Great Commission.

One pastor remarked, "Orphan Helpers allows our church to accomplish our responsibilities to orphans more efficiently, with greater effectiveness. We do not have the resources to help these kids day-in and day-out. Now, with Orphan Helpers we can."

The Stutsmanville Chapel of Harbor Springs, Michigan, chose to partner with Orphan Helpers so they could reach more than 300 forgotten children in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. They support nearly a dozen staff members working in three orphanages and a detention center. Teams travel semiannually to monitor and track progress, but more importantly, they are building personal relationships with the children and the staff.

Castle Hills First Baptist Church of San Antonio, Texas has also chosen to partner with Orphan Helpers. They are sponsoring a young pastor in CISNA, a boys's orphanage in El Salvador. Orphan Helpers is using these strategic partnerships to show other churches that they can actually impact an entire generation of orphans that hardly anyone knows exists.

People are most fulfilled and content when investing in the lives of others, especially those who cannot fend for themselves. These children are God’s way of fulfilling His purposes for our lives… and theirs. Orphan Helpers is providing a financially efficient, high-impact means for individuals, foundations, churches, even governments to accomplish all manner of worthy objectives: social, spiritual, educational, and economic. Many new church partnerships across multiple denominational lines have already been started.
